Stand-alone air-conditioning systems:

Today's mainstream HVAC equipment, which is designed for high efficiency and high sensible heat ratio, is not designed to remove the amount of moisture that will be required, given higher moisture removal requirements. This process reduces the relative humidity (rh) ratio (moisture in the air) but the average rh is increased typically to about 85 to 95 % when it should be 45 - 50 % rh for human comfort and health. And although some dehumidification occurs when you cool the air, operators typically can't control or increase the amount. It's simply a factor of the cooling process. To simultaneously control temperature and humidity is often beyond the capability of conventional systems.


Dehumidification Systems:

For productivity, human comfort, health 45 - 50% relative humidity (rh) and dry air is cleaner, easier, with less expense to cool. And if you can cool air that isn't loaded with moisture, you'll solve many other problems such as, dampness, rusting, decay, corrosion, warping, mold, bacterial growth on cooling coils, respiratory infections, electrical failures, computers to be no higher than 60% rh, building and structural damage. These systems give you, independent and precise control of temperature and humidity, dew points below the practical limits of conventional cooling technology. This system has comfortable conditions during cool muggy weather, and dry duct systems, to avoid microbial and fungal growth associated with sick building syndrome. Strictly looking from a performance point of view, the only choice is a dehumidification system.

How does your air-conditioning system perform when it is between 60 deg. F ( 15.5 deg. C ) to 65 deg. F ( 18.3 deg. C) outside temperature and raining?

You will find out that your equipment performs poorly and at these temperatures it can be harmful to operate the air-conditioning equipment.

Five criteria's are considered in selecting a dehumidification system:

3. Maintenance
4. Cross contamination across air streams
5. Thermodynamic performance

Building sealant information for Air-conditioning and Dehumidification:

My associate has a building sealant in which he claims his product can slow down the moisture penetration through masonry ceilings, walls and floors, when applied as though it were at a 0.30 factor. The lower the factor the slower the penetration of moisture there will be moving through the ceilings, walls and floors. We have given you some examples of other factors regarding water penetration factors through various construction and vapor materials below for your comparison.

Urethane, metal, membrane or composition shingle roofing is 100 sq. ft. per gallon and interior and exterior wall applications are 150 - 200 sq. ft. per gallon. Their product also seals with a R - 19 factor sheet metal duct work, hot and cold pipes for various applications.

You can purchase equipment directly from us, but it will be without warranty. Or you may have your own HVAC - RD contractor and I would have to speak with them. The companies I represent have agents worldwide and we may have one for your country. I can assist you with your needs and present you with prices for your area. I rely on six companies in Central America from Costa Rica, Panama, and some have offices through out Central American with five of them based in Costa Rica. We can provide you with photos with most of the equipment I represent and design an entire supermarket if need be. All equipment that will be sent with the proper voltage protection and that maybe a extra charge in some cases. It will be installed or sent with the equipment before shipping and field installed by a certified technician once the equipment arrives.
