Faial - Horta - Azores

Horta is the capital of Faial, an island devoted almost entirely to meeting the needs of visiting yachtsmen! The Cafe Sport by the harbour has been a meeting place for yachtsmen for half a century. In signing the visitors' booking you will be adding your name to a list which includes most of the famous names in yachting. As well as serving you drinks and refreshment, Peter Azevedo and his family provide a multi-lingual service providing anything from T-shirts and scrimshaw (whale-bone artefacts) to currency exchange at favourable rates! While in Horta, you will also be expected to provide a memento of your visit by recording it (with suitable artistic embellishment) on the harbour wall.
