Review of Quality Control and Management System
Process control is crucial to the part quality expected in manufacturing consistency, from each production lot through the entire life cycle of the product. Utilization of statistical techniques to monitor process variations is only step in implementing process control techniques. Trend charts correlate to production lot identification codes to provide historical data for evaluation of the manufacturing process as well as the identification of key process variables.
Our lot control system is simple and affective.
An order is released to the shop floor via KAN BAN cards. These cards are released to each department for each operation. One card per container or "batch" of parts.
The cards outline the operation by describing the following information:
Process flow and next operation designation
Machine cycle count
Critical Characteristics and measurement & charting instructions
Critical Process Measurements for this batch
Time and Date of manufacture
Number of pieces in container
Container type & shipping instructions
The cards are kept on file as a record for quality control. Since process and measured part print dimensions are on one KAN BAN card, correlation of process variable to quality characteristics is in one location.
