Are you familiar with hyperlinks in documents? If so, you will find it easy to work with these pages. If you are not familiar with hyperlinks, relax! The documents allow you to navigate and explore with an easy click and scroll process. For instance, click here to test the operation.
In the section above, you can see the words "click here" highlighted in blue, and when you move the mouse so the cursor is atop the words, the cursor turns into a hand. These indicate that there is a clickable link. After you've visited the link and returned, the link may look a slightly different color.
Do you see scroll bars at the right side of this window, or at the bottom? Scroll bars are little strips with arrows at the ends and a slider bar in the middle. They show where you are in the current window. Click on the arrows to move up or down, or side to side.
Most pages on this CD are about 600 pixels wide, which is just slightly wider than the horizontal bars on this page. A few pages are wider for special pictures. You may want to resize your browser window so that it is just big enough to see the bars. If your monitor can display 800x600 pixel resolution, you'll probably be happiest with that size. See your computer and operating system instructions for checking and modifying these settings.
The pages on this CD contain lots of images. Your monitor must be able to display at least 256 colors. If your monitor can display thousands or millions of colors, you'll be happier setting the colors higher than 256. See your computer and operating system instructions for checking and modifying these settings.
If you have set up your printer to work with your computer, your browser software will allow you to print any of the pages from the CD. Check the instructions for your printer, computer, operating system, and browser software for making them work together. Note that some pages (like this one) will not fit on a standard 8.5x11-inch page, so you may need to explore how printing works out.
