Welcome to Psychology from ABD to Licensure,
a site devoted to the post-coursework tasks and processes
required in order to become licensed as a psychologist.
If you are or will be a researcher, instructor, or other
non-therapist psychologist, see the section
"Practice as a Psychologist" for links that may
be more relevant to your work.
Below you'll find a general outline of the steps to take
from completing your classes through licensure as a
psychologist. Each title links to a page on that topic.
Pages include frequestly asked questions, links to online
resources, and other items of interest.
Students and new professionals sometimes feel
under-informed about, and inadequately prepared for, the
tasks and requirements they face after leaving their
programs. I created this page to provide a single entry
point to the resources you'll need to orient, support,
and advocate for yourself during the multi-year,
post-coursework portion of your training.
I'll be revising the page and adding new information in
response to your comments.

put things off if you know what's ahead of you.
Finish
Your Dissertation before internship if possible;
during or shortly after internship otherwise.
Please write me with your comments, questions, corrections,
additional links or resources, and updates. I will try to
incorporate your interests and concerns into the site.
I'm looking for information related to this site that is
especially useful for women, people with disabilities,
people of color, lesbian/gay/bi/trans people, and others who may
not experience themselves as participating in mainstream
psychology.
