  • Dedicated to the advancement of computer knowledge and skills
  • Maintains contacts with industry hardware and software developers
  • Presents demonstrations of leading software programs and applications
  • Provides members with information on special offers of hardware and software from leading developers in the industry

Services to Memberhip

  • Club Shareware Library. Most of this is on CD-ROM; both DOS files and Windows files; applications programs, utilities, and games.
  • Software Demonstrations. Given by software developers and members; some of the major developers in the industry, such as WordPerfect, Lotus, and Borland have demonstrated their products.
  • Hardware Demonstrations. Sound cards, video cards, scanners, CD-ROMS, and a Pentium PC have been demonstrated in the past. Also a large variety of joysticks, flight simulators, and games.
  • Videotapes from developers to introduce their new products. Microsoft has generously provided some good tapes on Windows 2000 and associated applications.

Bylaws

  • The constitution and bylaws for the SVPCUG were written in 1990.
  • The constitution and bylaws were revised in January 1999.
  • The name was changed from "Constitution and Bylaws" to "Bylaws".
  • Any items not covered specifically in the bylaws are covered by Robert's Rules of Order.

Government

  • The SVPCUG officers consist of a president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary.
  • A Board of Directors sets policy guidelines for the officers and members.
  • An Executive Committee is in place to handle immediate club business.
