Sponsorship Information

Findley's Racing
Darlington, MD

Dear Potential Sponsor:

Let me introduce myself. My name is Skip Findley; I am 28 years old and have been involved in various aspects of racing since 1993, as outlined on the attached driving resume. In 2000, I drove and co-owned the #18 Super Sportsman Sprint Car. This was my "Rookie" year at Silver Spring Speedway located on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, PA. We have had a very successful "Rookie" year, thanks to all of my sponsors for the 2000 season. Here's a list of accomplishments:
  • Finished 2nd in the B-Main on 10 Jun 2000
  • Won the B-Main on 26 Aug 2000 (there are only two B-Main races during the season consisting of cars that have not qualified for a "feature" race)
  • Qualified for my first feature on 2 Sep 00. Started 25th in a field of 26 cars and finished 17th. A total of 61 cars raced to qualify for the feature ... 26 made it
  • Qualified for the once a year event consisting of 100 laps during time trials (61 cars entered) as the 12th fastest. Just to qualify during time trials is quite an accomplishment, especially for a "Rookie". We finished 14th out of 26 cars qualifying for the feature event on 16 Sep 2000
  • Won my first feature event on 23 Sep 2000. What a thrill! I qualified for the feature race from my heat race. Only the top four finishers qualify from each of the five heat races. Two consolation races are run and the top three finishers also qualify for the feature. Thus, each feature consists of 26 cars. I took the lead during lap eight and maintained the lead thru 25 laps. Being in the lead for 17-18 laps was "incredible"! I was interviewed on the front straightaway for taking the victory. I was also interviewed for articles in the "Auto Area" race paper and other local racing publications. This indeed was the ultimate accomplishment for a "Rookie"
  • Qualified for the final race for the season on 1 Oct 2000 and finished 21st. There were 50 entries on the last night of racing
  • I have earned the most points of all the "Rookies" at the home track this season; therefore, I have been awarded the "Rookie-of-the-Year" honor
  • We also participated in the Super Sportsman Tour which consisted of races at 6 different tracks, although we were not able to participate in all of the races at each track this season, we finished second place in Sportsman Tour Rookie points

I am currently seeking sponsors for the 2001 Season. I could not have accomplished all that we did without generous sponsors, a hard-working pit crew, and very knowledgeable crew chief. We still need equipment/parts, which are broken out on the expense sheet below, that are necessary to achieve repeated success in 2001. Every little bit we receive in sponsorship helps us be more competitive and assists in our drive for the front. In addition to advertising your business on the car/trailer and a web site currently under construction, I will set-up dates for showing the car at your place of business for your customers to enjoy. We will be involved in the Super Sportsman Tour series which involves races at Williams Grove Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, Susquehanna Speedway, Selingsgrove Speedway as well as Silver Spring Speedway providing more advertising opportunities for your business.

My pit crew and I worked as a team throughout the 2000 season and are ready to do the job again in 2001. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at SkipFindley@cs.com.
