Johann Philip Dellinger and
Mary Tankersley(?)

Johann Philip Dellinger was born in Germany about 1715.  Philip died about 1792 in Lincoln Co., NC
He married Mary Tankersley(?) in Germany before 1750. There is some question as to whether Mary's last name is Tankersley.  The only evidence of her maiden name is from a deed in 1766 where she and Philip sold land to a William Tankersley.  This could have been a clerical error where Mary's name was recorded as Tankersly instead of Dellinger, or they could have sold land to a relative of hers.
Philip and Mary arrived in America 28 August 1750 aboard the Two Brothers. They journeyed to NC rather quickly after their arrival as they purchased land on Leepers Creek in Lincoln County, NC in 1757.
Johann Philip Dellinger and Mary Tankersley(?) had the following children:

i.   Eva Catherine Dellinger was born before 1735. She married Johann Michael Rudisill after 1750.
ii. Henry Dellinger was born 1738. Henry died 15 Feb 1820 in Lincoln Co., NC, at 81 years of age. He married  Anna Johanna Rudisill about  1760. Johanna was born in York Co., PA  28 Dec 1740. Anna was the daughter of Weyrich Rudisile and Anna Barbara Siegfried. Johanna died 1785 in Lincoln Co., NC at 44 years of age. On June 5, 1764 he was deeded the land of his father-in-law Weyrich by Weyrich's eldest son John. Henry was very prominent in the formation of Lincoln County.
iii. John Philip Dellinger was born about 1740 in Germany. He died 4 November 1826 in Lincoln Co., NC at 86 years of age. John married Barbara Whitener 19 Jun 1778.  She is the daughter of  Henry Whitener and Catherine Mull.
iv. Margaret Dellinger was born about 1745.  She died 25 May 1827 in Lincoln Co., NC at 82 years of age.  Margaret married  Michael Hoyle.
v. George Dellinger was born before 1755.  He died before October 1804 in Lincoln Co., NC. George married  Barbara Stroup 25 October 1782.
