Terran Strategies
Matrix Nuke This is simple, but it works. After your base is pretty well established, build a couple of command centers with nuke silos. Then get 2 science vessels and 2 ghosts (It really doesnt matter how many, long as youve got a silo for each ghost). Once your nukes have been built, head to the spot where you want to nuke and have the science vessels cast defensive matrix on the ghosts once the countdown has begun. Dont bother cloaking; they can see you with the matrix on. Kaboom. Although nine times out of ten your enemy will never have a chance, if they're able to locate you quickly and attack your ghost in force you could still lose him, so you might need to cast matrix more than once. A medic might help too. Also, dont bother nuking your opponents workers on a money map(unless you do it early in the game), cause they'll have a huge cash reserve and it won't cause much trouble.
Supply Depo Trick - ok here is all you have to do - build supply depos in your front door build them tell there no way in your base then build bunkers behind them and then tanks behinf the bunkers.
Tank/Marine Drop I have tested it several times and have gotten the drop off 90% of the time.Heres the build order. -Build 7 scvs, on the 7th one begin building the supply depot blockade defense. -As the 7th scv is building the blockade defense, build 2 more scvs. -On the 9th scv take him and build 2 barracks. The blockade should be done by now. -Unlike the normal bunkers behind the depots, dont build them instead replace that with marines and medics. -next start pumping scvs and marines get alot of them (20 scvs, lots of marines) -as soon as the barracks are done, get gas (3 scvs per refinery) -Next build a academy, and upgrade stim-packs and shells. -By now you should have a abundace of marines and medics. -Now take the marines and medics and place them behind the depots. -Ok, as you are building be sure to stay up with your population. -Build 2 factorys and 3 stargates -Get the 2 factories to build 4 tanks each, and take 2 of the 3 stargates to build 4 drop ships each, with the other stargate build 3 wraiths -Now as the tanks come out of the factory use them as defense behind your marines, because eventully your defense will become your offence -When all the ships are built, load them up with as much of your army as you can. But be sure to load all of your tanks up first. -Now, you have your squad loaded. You have 8 dropships filled with as much as possible, and 3 wraiths as your diversion. -You have 2 choices you can do with this. 1.You can take your wraiths and hit there mineral workers, split your dropships in to two groups divide them up 4 dropships and 4 dropships and go on bolth sides of your enemy. 2.You can use the wraiths as in you used them in plan 1, then just drop your load on 1 side and wipe em out. You may have to repeat this over but harrass your enemy and drop in different spots each time, make sure to keep your marines with your tanks for air support from air. Together they make a deadly combination.
Tank Rush : . You should begin the game by building 7 SCV's and with the 7th you should build a supply depot and then another SCV (the 8th) you should build a barracks. Continue making SCV's and put them on minerals. After the barracks is done build a bunker near by so if a player 6 zergling rushes he can not just run by your bunker. Fill the bunker as soon as possible. Sometimes minerals are further away so it differs when you will have enough money. With the12th SCV make a Refinary. Build 2 more SCV's to put into your refinary. Build another bunker when you have the extra minerals and fill the bunker. Keep making Supply Depots as you need them and keep making marines until you have 6 extra (Those 6 do not go into the bunkers) Then when u have enough gas (100) and enough minerals (350) make 1 Factory and 1 Barracks. Then pump out tanks and some infantry to provide them with protection. Once the Factory is done immediately build the machine shop, once you start building the machine shop make sure to save your money, because you need to upgrade to get siege mode and start building a tank immediately after its done. I would suggest to attack with 2 tanks and 12 marines. Make sure to put your marines right in front of your tanks. This tactic works great against all units. If you attack Protoss and they have a large amount of zealots this may not work.
Anti Zergling Rush: Ever tried to take on a zerg player, realising that you could not survive 3 minutes? This tactic works 100% of the time versus the fastest Zergling rush, your enemy can throw upon you. Build a SCV and use it to gather minerals. Build Barracks As soon as possbile. (Leave enough space for a bunker to be built near your Command Center but behind your Barracks.) When the Barracks is completed, use the SCV that built the Barracks, and order it to build a bunker in the middle of your Command Center and your Barracks. Build 1 Marine with the remaining $50. Just about when the marine is ready to come out, 6 zerglings should be rushing you, (unless they are slow.) Quickly put your Marine in the bunker, and lift off your Barracks. (If they attack barracks). Chances are that they will go attack your bunker, Use ALL your SCVs to repair it. If they decide to attack your SCV's, RUN, So your Marine can kill them. Noticing, what just happened, your enemy will quit or attemp another rush with 12 lings this time. So make more marines (Total of 4) and put them in your bunker, now quickly go for FireBats. While Building, Academy and Refinery, send 1 marine to attack their base. If they are building a Hydralisk den, Pump out Marines, if they are building lings, Pump out Flamers.
Breaking a Defense: Get 4 tanks, 15 Marines, 8 FireBites & 4 Medics. If they are Terran, send in one Marine and line up the tanks behind the bloody mess. If they are NOT terran, Just siege the tanks and blow them into oblivion.
Proper Nuking: Most of the time, players are happy to let their ghost die after doing it's job because of the sight range. That's just dumb. If you upgrade range, scanner sweep where you want to nuke, and then nuke, You would be LITTERALLY aiming farther than a tank. The best place to nuke is right in their mining spot, If suceeded, this will leave the enemy crippled since he will have to start over at 1 worker. If you happen to be playing a 2vs2 with a ZERG ally, have him cast a Dark Swarm on your ghost, surround the ghost with 6 fbats and 2 medics. Also ask him to pop in about 4 hydras on the back of your ghost. So if they attack your ghost with air, the 4 hydras should pretty much take them down. If they use Melee units, the Flamers should take them down. It is very approppriate to nuke in pairs, because a Double Nuke Blast, Kills ANYTHING.
Marine Drop This strategy can be very effective against opponents who build big units like Battlecruisers or Carriers. - _ Build 7 SCVs, make 7th build a supply depot. -Build more SCVs, get 4 Barracks, get a Refinery. -After 4 Barracks are done, start pumping out Marines, and get out an Academy. -Build an Engeniering Bay or two, and research U-238 shells and Stimpack. Note: Depending on the game, you might want to build defense first. -Build a Factory, and then 2 Starports with Control Towers. -While doing all this, upgrade Infantry Weapons and keep pumping out tons of marines. -Research Wraith cloaking and energy, and get out some dropships. -Do that until you can get at LEAST 7 or 8 dropships. -Build about 12 Wariths. -Put a bunch of back-up Marines in your base. -Look for a place in your opponent's base that is not heavily guarded, and bust in. -Cloak your Wraiths and attack all their defense. -While Wraiths are busy, drop your marines in an unguarded area, like in the middle of their workers or a bunch of buildings. Note: If you want, you can put 6 marines and 2 Medics in each Dropship, rather than just 8 marines. I don't find Medics that helpful late in the game, but hey, every game is different. -This should kill your opponent. -If it doesn't, he/she will probably attack, and since you got back-up Marines, it shouldn't be a problem. -Then attack him/her again.
Bunker Push . -Build 7 SCVs, make 7th build a supply depot. -Build more SCVs, and when the SCV is done building the supply depot, build a Barracks. -When you have at least 10 SCVs mining, make another Barracks, so you have 2. -When the first Barracks is done, make marines, make the SCV who built it scout for your opponents' base. -When the second barracks is done, build more marines. When you have 8, bring them and your SCV to the entrance of your opponent's base. -Build a bunker right outside their sight range, and put 4 marines in it. Move the SCV a little closer, and build another bunker. While doing this, continue building marines, supply depots, and SCVs. -Keep building bunkers up to your enemy's command center, and he will be dead.
