Colonia
I made a field trip with Jessica when she was leading a Panamanian group to the historical town of Colonia in Uruguay.

First,
it was an excruciatingly long cruise ride that lasted 3
hours. Fortunately, it was a sunny day. Jessica and I
took the opportunity to sun tan on the top deck.

Spain and Portuguese once fought over this strong hold that controlled the mouth of the River to the heart of the South America Continent. Today, ruins and preserved buildings in both Spanish and Portuguese styles can still be found.

There are streets and windows shaded by the densely grown canopy trees.

Mediterranean style interiors where visitors are quickly greeted by an interior courtyard, which nowadays is commonly converted into living room with skylights.

Wen we arrived, it was 2pm. Guests of the restaurants and hotels were just beginning to enjoy their late and relaxing lunches.

The town was charming, the streets were quiet. It is a good place to go to escape from the crowded city of Buenos Aires.

This
tapa restaurant hung a sign that mixed English with
Spanish. The called the place El Drugstore when in
Spanish, it should have been called La Farmarcia.
