Asado

One evening I participated in an asado held at Lina's Tango House.

Asado is the Argentinean barbeque. It is a gathering of friends, usually is held at late afternoon or evening, either at the courtyard of a home, or at the countryside.

Lina was the chef-in-charge, We sat under a tent next to the grill.

As I was told, the menu for that asado was very typical. I carefully recorded the food and beverage offered to me, as followed:

• Wine (fine dry Melbac)
• Wine (dashed to help myself a second glass of that Melbac)
• Light salad with guacamole
• Beef steak (flank steak)
• Basket of bread
• Sausage (blood sausage and meat sausage)
• Chicken (carcuss of the breast)
• Beef steak (back ribs)
• Chicken (I finally got my hand on the chicken wing which was originally assigned to the dog)
• (ran out of sausage)
• Wine (a sweeter version, I forced myself to drink it)
• Beef steak (lower back)
• Beef steak (can't tell anymore, just noticed that it stopped moo-ing on my plate)
• Wine (funny that the sweet wine began to taste better)
• Beef steak (sat on my plate)
• Beef steak (I passed it over to the next person)
• (looking desperately for any wine)
• (wishing there was Alka Seltser)

We danced away the rest of the night to tango, salsa and Middle-Eastern music. Then at midnight, we hopped on a taxi to go to Salon Canning Milonga.

The meat was comfortably sitting in my stomach for the remaining 6 hours I spent at the milonga.
