Bill's Experience with Gambling.
Here are a few lines describing my "experience" with gambling. I became addicted and I almost really suffered for it. I hope that if you have a gambling problem that you may get help before it's to late for you and your loved ones. I and other person that I was terribly in love with went our separate ways on kind of sour terms. In my "depression," I turned to gambling. There are two casinos within 75 miles of where I live. For a period of several months I went there once a week sometimes two. I would spend anywhere from twenty dollars to six hundred and fifty dollars per visit. I got the money from a combination of credit cards and my checking account. It got so bad that now I have one credit card that is maxed out to the limit and I almost had trouble paying the rent. In total I think I'm out $8500. The problem that in each visit, if I brought my ATM card and/or Credit card, I would get carried away and head to the ATM machine. The casino also has a machine that will allow you to receive money even if you don't know the PIN number for your credit card. A truly wicked thing. I had to show ID to the cashier in order to receive the money. I think what made it really attractive was that I could win large amounts of money and also that there were lots of sights, sounds and people. There was one evening that I gambled until 4 AM. When I got home the sun was starting to come up. That's when it hit me that I really had a problem. If you want to go gambling make sure you take somebody along who can stop you if you become "too wild." Even leave your ATM and credit cards at home and just take a real small amount like twenty to thirty dollars. Whatever it will take to "wean" you off gambling. Better yet, DON"T GO!!! I don't blame the person that I was in love with for my gambling. I am totally responsible for what I have done. I'm the one that drove to the casino, the one that put the money into the machine, the one who went to the ATM machine. I am responsible for my own life. To wean myself off gambling, I now have a video poker, slot machine, horse racing games on my home computer that I downloaded from the Internet. To satisfy my urge to gamble, I will play these games. Combining this with my determination, the love of family and friends, and the will of GOD, I will stop gambling. Below I will list several sites that deal with gambling. I hope they will assist you in your recovery from gambling. You are a good person and you are the one who will turn your life around. You are the possibility of happiness. God Bless.
