"The Craft" meets "Dead Poet's Society", is a good way
to describe this movie. You take a group of 6 teenage girls, put them alone
at a catholic girls academy during Easter break and some fun things start
to happen.
A group of construction workers uncover a hidden room in the church and
find it has a group of dead naked girls inside. We soon find out the girl
were members of The Illuminati, a secret society of witches trying to raise
a demon. The girls staying at the school over break decide to try and hold
a seance in the chamber and wind up finding a spell book. Faith translates
the book from latin to find out that they can raise a demon and have ultimate
power. Faith decides to stay out of it and the other 5 girls begin starting
the rituals in the book.
The teen coven finds out about a person called "The Guardian" who is supposed
to be able to stop them. They begin to suspect Mother Clodah is the guardian
so Jamie poisons her. They find out that the Guardian is still living so
Jamie kills Father Michael. Faith tries to stop the rituals with the help
of Daniel but he is captured by the coven to be the virgin sacrifice. Once
Faith goes to Sister Sherlyn the two go to stop the ritual and we find out
that Sherlyn is the Guardian. Jamie stabs Sherlyn and faith runs off to the
church to get some communion hosts to break the spell that Jamie has over
the other girls. Faith runs in and gives the hosts to the girls just as they
are raising the demon. Jamie is killed by the demon and the other girls escape.
The police decide that Jamie went nuts, killed everyone and then killed
herself. The end.
The Craft would have been a lot better if the girls would have gotten naked,
I'm sure of it now.
Definitely worth a rent
I went to a Catholic grade school and I've never met a nun like Sister
Sherlyn.
I didn't know nuns are allowed to have tattoos.
