Banderas Bay is one of the migratory destinations for the Humpback Whale. They can be found in the bay from Mid October to Late March.

Here are some pictures taken on a day sailing trip in the Bay. A minimum of 300 humpbacks visit the bay during the wintering seasons. The mothers with calfs tend to be closer to shore and can be found from 0.60 to 2.5 miles off shore.
