So who is Barry Toomey M.P.S., A.C.H. anyway?

Barry has been studying hypnosis since the 1970's. It wasn't a serious endeavor until he was working on his M.P.S. Degree in the late 80's at New York Institute of Technology. (M.P.S. stands for Masters in Professional Studies.) His Degree is in Human Relations and his major was Counseling. During the time of his study he took a one semester seminar on Hypnosis. This was his first academic study of the subject. Since that time he has been a member and received further training from the National Guild of Hypnotists (N.G.H.), The Association to Advance Ethical Hypnosis (A.A.E.H.), The Hypnodyne Foundation, and the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (I.A.C.T.). He has been certified by the National Guild (Where he received the A.C.H. which stands for Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist.), the International Association of Counselors and Therapists and the Hypnodyne Foundation.

He is a Certified Teacher for both the Hypnodyne Foundation and The International Association of Counselors and Therapists. He finds teaching others to be hypnotists exciting and rewarding.

Barry enjoys working with individuals and groups, as well as teaching and giving speeches. He also enjoys volunteering at a The Long Island Crisis Center (L.I.C.C.) a Suicide Prevention and Crisis Hotline, where he works on the hotlines, and aids in the training of new counselors. From 1993-1996 he was a member of the Board of Directors of The Long Island Crisis Center.
