This trunk is my latest product. The wood is cherry, red oak and paduak.

      I was helping a friend move from her grandfather's old farmhouse. We came upon an assortment
of woods, cherry being one of them. From conversations we estimate the wood to be at least
100 years old.
     The cherry makes up the shell, red oak the frame and the paduak I used for the straps and hinge . The center lock rotates which releases a fixed screw when the lid is lifted.The straps are adhered to the base. Once the catches are released at the top they swivel out releasing their hold on the frame.The straps continue down the backside.( not shown ) These make up the hinges.
