A Note From Kwan Jang Nym

The weather is still warm and we feel better sometimes going places without shoes.

Well, not "everywhere" is a good place to go without shoes.

As in previous years, we want to ask again that all of our students and instructors

come to the school wearing slippers, sandals or shoes.

This will prevent bringing dirt onto our practice floor

and will help to keep the school a clean place for all to practice.

Thanks to all for your help!

It's Always a Team Effort at Kuk Sool Won Clear Lake!

Sa Bum Nym Terry Heaps

The upcoming trip to Korea is no exception.  With all the excitement it would be easy to think that the trip is all about the people who will be going.  But, our school must also function in the Kwan Jang Nyms' absence.  This will  truly take a team effort and that's where the Clear Lake Do Jang is on the ball.

This trip is a dream come true for Kuk Sa Nym.  It is the largest group to visit Korea in more than two decades and our performance there will be long remembered.  I know  that we can count on our team of students who will be traveling to leave a very favorable impression and promote further good relations for every other Kuk Sool Won practitioner who follows.

There is an equally important aspect to this trip that cannot be ignored because it is just as important.  I am talking about all the Black Belts and Dahn Bo Nyms who are entrusted with keeping the energy of the school going  in while the Kwan Jang Nym's are traveling.  I know that I can count on everyone being as professional as possible.  It is a great responsibility that will take a team effort.

Thanks to all the 27 members who are going and all the members who are staying.  My best respects to all who have stepped up to take responsibility for classes.

Thanks also goes to Ann Simanton JKN for making the Korea Language disk for us all.

We do it as a team.  That's what makes us the champions we are.

**PARENTS' CORNER**

Safety First!

Please, instruct your child to remain inside the school until you arrive and pick him/her up.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Time to Test?

Kwan Jang Nym Harmon says

" Always ask your instructor for permission to test.

THEN complete the testing application and turn it into the office before coming to test.

Bring you school ID card when testing for a new belt, not a stripe.

After testing, your card will updated and returned to you."

Reminder To All Students and Parents

Please, keep a regular class schedule to avoid overcrowding the classes.

For example, if you come Tuesdays and Thursdays, maintain that routine.

If you miss one of your practice days, come Friday or Saturday to make-up class.

There are other benefits to this.

It's been shown that alternate practice days are better for your training than consecutive practice days.

School Rules

Arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled class.

Attend one "A" day and one "B" day per week.

Pull attendance card after changing into uniform.

Keep uniforms neat, clean, and odor free.

Quietly prepare for class (DO NOT disturb the class in session)

Respect should always be shown to your instructors and classmates.

Students and guests should always be well mannered and behave properly.

Attend class on a regular and consistent basis.

Talk to your instructor about make-up classes.

Proper effort and spirit should always be shown.

Practice and exercise at home will give better results.
