Q.First of all where you guys from?
A. We are from London, Ontario, Canada
Q.You guys have
opened some big shows before, what show has been your favorite, when did
you feel most proud of your performance?
A.We would say that
are best show was here in or Hometown of London about 2 years ago when
we were in a show with Canadian R & B artist Jully Black. We were pumped
after waiting all night to blow up the stage and we had the crowd feeling
our energy and it just came off hype.
I think
we felt most proud of our performance after winning the Urban Bowl in
Toronto on May 17 of this year, it set a mark for us in Ontario.
Q.When did you
guys decide to be hip-hop artist?
A. We decided to be hiphop artists as soon as we knew of hiphop like in
the 80's when break dancing was the big thing. About 6 years ago is when
the Lo Kreepaz got serious with it though.
Q.When did the
Lokreepaz come together?
A. The Lo Kreepaz Officially got together about 6 years ago on the serious
tip, but we'd been boys trying to be stars for years.
Q.How you guys
come up with the name Lokreepaz?
A. Well, The LO stands for London, Ontario and the Kreepaz is basically
the Creep before you Crawl theory, just because we are just breaking ground
and we always feel that we will continue to break new grounds to stay
fresh. The spelling of the group name is just for creativity sake.
Q.What else do
you guys listen to?
A. As far as Striknine goes he is striktly a dirty hiphop and R&B head
Pablo D listens to Hiphop, Soul, Jump up music (soca, Island Music) Brooke
listens to the complete spectrum of music .
Q.What are some
of your musical goals?
A. We would like to make history and become the biggest Canadian rap Group
in History. We aim to shed light in peoples lives about what they can
be and what they can accomplish if they put their minds to it. We like
to balance dreams with reality, good with the bad and show mankind that
good rules over evil. To become one of music's biggest group's in history
is another goal of ours.
Q.What are some
of the main differences of Canadian hiphop?
A. Traditionally Canadian Hiphop has a distinct sound of rough around
the edges style, it's not smooth like the American way that hiphop is
produced, but we are showing the world that we are not your average Canadian
hiphop group and that we can hang with anyone and become better than all
if necessary.
Q.How would you
describe your music?
A. Our music is just the word "MUSIC", it's powerful in message and rhythm,
it's soulful and direct to the point, it's straight from the heart, soul
& gut, it's beauty.
Q.How would you
describe yourselves?
A. In a nutshell we are humble, focused, determined, ambitious black men
on a mission.
Q.Whats each of
you guys' favorite song?
A. Favorite songs... too many, If you are talking about our own, all of
them.
Q.What do you think
of hiphop right now?
A. Hiphop right now is in a state where it needs balance, too much materialism
& sex rules hiphop, we are coming on the scene to balance it back out
with the realness.
Q.Tell us a little
about the rap scene in Canada
A. The Rap scene in Canada is growing, a lot of talent that is not seen
or heard because these big wig record companies down here have little
experience and are scared to sign acts and give us a chance. The scene
is growing but when need American help.
Q.Have any shout
outs?
A. First & foremost shout out TO THE MOST HIGH, to our friends
and families and to Dailydosehiphop.com for the interview.
