A STATEMENT OF THE BELIEFS OF TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH

  • The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, our only infallible rule of faith and practice.

  • There is one God, eternal, and self-existing in three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are to be equally loved, honored, obeyed and adored.

  • All mankind, united with Adam, participated in his fall from his sinless state and thus is lost in sin and totally unable to return to God and paradise.

  • The Sovereign God, for no other reason than his own love and mercy, has chosen lost sinners from every nation to be redeemed by the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit and through the atoning death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

  • Those sinners whom the Spirit quickens, come to believe in Christ as Saviour by the Word of God, are born again, become sons of God, and will persevere to the end.

  • Justification is by faith and through it the sinner is declared righteous by God, as God applies the perfect righteousness of Christ to our account.

  • The goal of God's saving work in the life of the Christian is holiness, good works and service for the glory of God.

  • Every Christian, united to Christ, is also united to His body, the church. It is the duty of every Christian not to neglect the fellowship of believers, to seek to build up one another in the body by the use of God-given spiritual gifts and to seek to add to the body by proclaiming the Word of God to the lost.

  • At death, the Christian's soul passes immediately into the presence of God and the unbeliever's soul is eternally separated from God unto condemnation.

  • Baptism is a sign of God's covenant and is properly administered to children of believers in their infancy as well as to those who come as adults to trust in Christ for salvation.

  • Jesus Christ will return to earth, visibly and bodily, after God's Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ has been proclaimed to all the world, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
