Ohio Valley Tae Kwon Do School is dedicated to the tradition of martial arts.  All members, students and instructors alike, wear the same traditional white uniform.  There is no competition over who has the coolest uniform.  Too many martial art programs in the United States have become corrupted with politics and financial gain as their driving force instead of focusing on the development  of the student and the continuance of tae kwon do.  We believe that it is not "how many" black belts we turn out or how quickly they can get there that makes our school stand out above the rest.  But, instead it is our focus on caring and nurturing our students to be reliable and responsible people that will turn out a quality person who will be an asset to our school, his/her family and community.
      We do not put limitations on anyone regardless of age or physical impairment. The only thing that will stop a person from succeeding is their lack of confidence in themselves. 
     In addition to teaching self defense, instilling self esteem and leadership qualities, we also provide a fun social atmosphere where you can meet other like minded individuals who want to improve themselves.  Our school host various social events throughout the year to allow not only the camaraderie of the students to grow, but to allow the
Families to be a part of our school as well.  Events such as Movie night, bowling, miniature golf, rock climbing, picnics, Halloween and Christmas parties where we serve a traditional Korean meal each year.
     Not only is a student's technique and tae kwon do talents a factor in attaining the black belt, but more importantly we look at their attitude, personality, and level of responsibility.  For that reason rules and testing standards are adhered to closely and fairly by all students alike.
     Our goal is to give the students self-confidence, self-respect, respect for others and nature and to instill in them a sense of pride so that they will become more productive members of society and better able to cope with the stresses and pressures of today's world and live a happier life.
