"Greene Genes: A Genealogical Quarterly About Greene County, New York" was created, written and published by Patricia Morrow from its inception in 1988 until it ceased publication in 1999. During this period forty issues and two supplements of subscribers' pedigree charts and family group sheets were produced. No issues were published in 1998 owing to Ms. Morrow's involvement in events to celebrate the bicentennial of the Town of Windham, New York.

Ms. Morrow, who has served as the Windham Town Historian since 1987, was named to the Town of Windham Historical Society's Board of Trustees at its first annual meeting on June 21, 2006. She was also appointed chairman of the Society's Genealogy, Newsletter and Research Committees. She is a lifelong resident of the community she serves and is descended from several families who settled in Greene County shortly after the Revolutionary War.

Greene County, NY was formed on March 25, 1800, from parts of Albany and Ulster counties. It was named for Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene. Situated in the northern Catskill Mountains, Greene County is bordered by Albany and Schoharie counties on the North, Delaware County on the West, Ulster County on the South, and the Hudson River on the East. It is comprised of the fourteen towns of Ashland, Athens, Cairo, Catskill, Coxsackie, Durham, Greenville, Halcott, Hunter, Jewett, Lexington, New Baltimore, Prattsville and Windham. There are also five incorporated villages: Athens, Catskill, Coxsackie, Hunter and Tannersville, as well as numerous hamlets.

This web site lists articles, Bible records and biographical sketches that were published in all forty issues of "Greene Genes" as it is referred to by historians, genealogists and scholars. A total of 1,798 pages were published, 377 of which comprised the index.

Back issues of "Greene Genes" will be sold exclusively on eBay. View all current auctions by clicking on the eBay link at the bottom of this page.
