ROSA TURNER KNAPP
     Latina writer Rosa Turner Knapp has published five novels, including romantic comedy for Kensington (Zebra) Books of New York and political thrillers for Jacobyte Books of Australia, sold a short script and signed six screenplay option agreements with Los Angeles area producers. Apart from receiving a total of six literary awards, her work has been published in translation and favorably reviewed on the Internet and in the foreign press. Rosa's additionally spoken on her writing at Barnes & Noble and the Virginia Festival of the Book.

     In 2006, Rosa signed an 18-month development deal with Cosa Bella Films for her unpublished book manuscript "Getting Lucky,"  a Latino romantic comedy set in Washington, DC. She also contributed a piece on the book-to-screenplay adaptation process to the forthcoming Blue Ridge Anthology, slated for release by Cedar Creek Publishing in April 2007 and containing notable Virginia writers David Baldacci, Rita Dove and George Garrett. Her plans for the coming year include potential television movie projects and a renewed focus on her poetry.

This new collection of original work by Central Virginia writers will be launched at the March 2007 Virginia Festival of the Book. Rosa will sell and promote advance copies of the anthology from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 24th at the Charlottesville Omni Hotel.
