What Can I Do With A Ham License?
When you obtain your license you can:
- Talk to other licensed hams from around the world
- Talk to other local hams
- Collect QSL cards (cards confirming contact with other    
  ham radio operators)      
- Help provide communications in times of emergency
- Continue learning about electronics
- Build radio equipment
- Recieve pictures using amateur television (ATV)
- Communicate using satellites
- Bounce radio signals off the moon (earth-moon-earth or
  EME)
- Talk to astronauts who are licensed hams aboard the  
 space shuttle
- Help provide communications during special events
  (parades, walkathons, etc.)    
- Communicate over the airwaves using computers
  connected to your radio (packet radio)
