Riveting
Please note that we used regular aviation upset rivets on the control stick doubler, the control stick pulley saddles and the angle attachments to the rudder control horn and rib...
These are the steps to a well set pop rivet:
Layout hole locations per plan - look, measure and mark!
Use automatic center punch to mark hole locations for drilling.
Work from the center to the edges of the riveting area.
Drill under sized hole with #20 drill for 1/8 rivet - use sharp bits and hold that drill steady! Use a variable speed drill and start s l o w l y.
Work from the center to the edges of the riveting area.
Cleco parts together in at least every other hole.
Work from the center to the edges of the riveting area.
(*) Drill undersized hole up to #30 drill for 1/8 rivet.
Check between and underneath parts for burrs.

Check between and underneath parts for burrs.
Use burr hook to remove burr from between parts.
Insert pop rivet into hole and use a quality - there's a difference- puller held firmly on rivet and against the part.
Examine your work!
If it isn't square and tight - drill out with a #30 drill and re-rivet!
Remove another Cleco and go to the drill undersized hole up to #30 step (*).
