We have all seen those Tornado fuel saver infomercial on TV, selling a simple device for $70-100 that manulipates air flow into your cars intake manifold into a spinning pattern that measurably increases mpg and horsepower 10-20%.
Thrifty Irishman that I am at heart, spending $70-100 for a few bent pieces of tin I could make myself seemed silly, even if I could save $10 a month in gas.
This is the web page that has my instructions on how u can build your own "homemade fuel saver" type device for any car or suv for pennies with a tin can you would otherwise throw in the trash. There is no guarantee your results will be as good as my 15-20% greater mpg.
By using the below instructions you accept all responsibility or liability against all damages, peril or injury from using same and agree the author/seller has zero liability.
Be careful not to cut yourself during construction on any sharp edges, work gloves are recommended. If you build it right exactly as per these instructions, you should save a small fortune in gas as I have with better pickup/horsepower. Thanks for ur patronage &good luck.
Step #1 First you need to measure the diameter of you intake hose right in front of the air cleaner. Most are 2.5 to 3.5 inches across.
Now you need a tin can lid slightly larger than the diameter you measured. I used a tuna can lid on this one I made for my 95 dodge Dakota pickup. If you intake measurement is larger (like my hummer h2) try a larger dog food can lid, smaller measurements usually work with a soup can like. I wasn't kidding when I told you this is super cheap to build.
Now is where your artistic talents come in. Once the adhesive has set up start to bend the lower part of the flat edges doing a little bit at each time until you start to see a spiral pattern. Put a good smooth curve on each blade. PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT YOURSELF, WORK GLOVES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Keep and equal distance between the edges of the blades, you don't want any counterproductive restriction of the air flow.
Installation:
Take the intake hose off your cars air cleaner and place your unit in the end of the intake hose, twist it in the direction the blades are bent and with a soft push insert the unit into the air intake tube. All cars are different and some may not have ribbed intake tubes like the picture so you may need to find another way to keep your unit snugly in place.
if your car has no ribs on the intake tube try running a small wire thur it to hold the unit in place like this:
If your unit is to big, try trimming it a little to fit better before you have to start over with a different sized can, I had to try several different sized cans before I got it right. If your unit fits snug replace the air cleaner and you are done.
Your feedback via email after a few tanks of gas on how your homemade unit is working is greatly appreciated. Please send email to unameitltd@cs.com If you stumbled over this page by accident and make your own unit using my instructions you need to first paypal a $2.00 royalty payment to unameitltd@cs.com not to be in violation of copyright or my conf & liability page shown above.
They say that God gives everybody talent that makes them GREAT at something. The best "talent on loan from God" I got isn't the above "it really works" homemade Tornado type gas saver. What I got is poor spelling, but a near genius talent for investment math that has for over 25 years has made me a GREAT investment adviser. I serve about 500 middle and high income clients (inc. several pro hockey players) who have made over 100 million in investment gains for over 25 years. I have never been sued by a client or lost any client because they lost money, not even one!!! There are near zero wall street people with 25+ years experience that can truthfully say that. Please visit my 2 investment management firms below linked web sites and check out my GREAT track record!! My minim investment is only 10k.
