House of Doren
Doren blood is a direct decedent of House Nova. The Dorens were once an independent family who swore no allegiance to the Crown of Aquilaene. Doren was an island of similar size to Ullmoor that existed in the Red Sea with its own reigning monarch.
However, during the reign of King Jaille Doren the island kingdom found itself much pressed but constant attacks by pirate and Viking forces. Almost continually coastal cities were raided and torn to shreds. Without Greater Aquilaene for protection, King Jaille had no standing army or method of protection.
King Ullarasis Nova the First worked on an alliance with the Island of Doren and was able to offer protection in the form of his sister's hand in marriage. The heir to Doren, Prince Christian, wed Princess Aegana Nova, the Aquilaene King's sister. Prince Christian and his bride lived on the island of Doren for many years until Christian's death.
The Island of Doren suffered from a terrible shift in climate and was no longer inhabitable. Constant storms and rising water eventually kept clear the vikings, the price was the evacuation of Aegana Nova and the children she had raised there. Upon Prince Christian's death the widowed princess and her children took the surname Doren-Nova. Several generations later it was dropped.
When House Drake fell during the reign of Queen Supernova the land that is now Doren was left to wildlings and several smaller lords who ruled independent segments of the land. Ullselena Nova later handed the land over to her cousin Adrian Doren and thus began the official founding of House Doren.
The Flag of House Doren
Capital of Doren: Mulldone - The cheif city of Doren is known primarily for its rich lands and fields. Mulldone is a flat city centered around Klevenhall, one of the oldest remainging castles in all of Aquilaene.
