Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Tisha Elvira Thweatt

Funeral services were held at The Holly Creek church
Monday  morning  at  10:00  o'clock  for Mrs. Tisha
Elvira  Thweatt,  age  91, pioneer  resident  of  the
Broken Bow community, with the Rev. Forrest  Wicks,
pastor of the Broken Bow Baptist church officiating.

Burial was in the  Holly  Creek  cemetery  under the
direction of the Coffey Funeral Home of Broken Bow.

Bearers  were:
Frank  Wilson; A. B.  Pace;  Rex  Chandler; Clifton
Thirman; Claud Moran and J. B. Morris.

The deceased was born in Henderson county, Texas in
1857.She became a member of the Missionary Baptist
church  at  the  age  of  14  and had been an active
member during her active lifetime.

She  was  the  mother  of thirteen children, seven of
whom  survive her.  They are  C. R. Thweatt, Broken
Bow;  Mrs.  Will  Thurman,  Broken  Bow;  Mrs.  Lee
Stewart,  Idabel; W.G. Thweatt,  Petty, Texas; C.L.
Thweatt,Babbit, Nevada; R. B. Thweatt,Tulera, Calif.
and  J. D. Thweatt,  address  unknown;  fifty  grand
children, seventy-three  great-grandchildren and two
greatgreat grandchildren.

Father of Local Man Passed Away

Funeral services for William Jerome
Thweatt born in Mississippi in 1856
were conducted at the Holly Creek
school building Monday,July 9,1934,
by Rev. Barnard Franklin.

Mr. Thweatt was the father of 13
children, 8 of whom survive him,one
of whom is C.R. Thweatt of Broken
Bow. The deceased was a member of
the Missionary Baptist church which
he joined 46 years ago.

He passed away at his home in Texas
and the body was brought to Holly
Creek for burial..
